Panthers get off to a roaring start
Following the mid-week shootout defeat to the Sheffield Steelers the Nottingham Panthers were looking to get off to a good start in the Elite League when the Belfast Giants came to town.
The first period got off to an exciting start with it taking less than a minute for the tenacious Bruce Richardson to square up to a much bigger opponent.
County suffer late goal against The Brewers
Notts were looking to bounce back against Burton Albion after an injury-time goal gave Barnet a 1-0 win at Underhill last week. McParland had decided against starting Matt Ritchie; the deadline day loan signing from Portsmouth to many fans surprise and instead started with the same midfield as at Barnet.
Trentside are keeping it in the family
Trentside became the early pace-setters in the Premier Division with a crushing 7-2 victory over newly promoted Rolls Royce Leisure. It was a game that the Francis boys were to the fore, or should that be four as Nathan grabbed a brace supported by one apiece from Tyrone Rory and Eugene.
