County’s wheelbarrow keeps rolling on… next-up Bradford
Notts County rounded off their pre-season preparations with a 2-2 draw at home to a Liverpool XI this evening. Defenders Mike Edwards and Graeme Lee got the goals in an entertaining clash at Meadow Lane in the Magpies’ final pre-season fixture before the start of the 2009/10 season next Saturday.
Billy’s army of players make Brum look average
Forest totally dominated the first half an hour of the match, albeit mainly in possession and territory – with a few neat chances. Garner looked much more adjusted to a midfield role and scrapped well to win the ball to feed to McGoldrick who produced a decent save from Birmingham ‘keeper Joe Hart.
Cuckney go through to Cockspur ECB Final
The Final was played out between hosts Wollaton and Cuckney, who won the toss again, batted first and this time made 134-5 in 20 overs, Tom Ullyott scoring 33 and Richard Stroh 29. Paul McMahon took 2-18 off 4 overs. Wollaton replied but were bowled out in the final over for 96, Scott Elstone top scoring with 30. Tom Ullyott impressed again taking 3-20 off 4 overs backed by Will Butler, 2-15 off 4 and Dan Brown, 2-15 off 3.3 overs.
