Booth & Conveney are both King of their Rings
It was a stunning and spectacular night at the Victoria Leisure Centre last Sunday night (July 12th). It started off brilliantly with local street-dance group Ground Hogs opening the show with there awesome dancing that everyone was entertained by. The first bout was between Chris Conveney who was representing Nottingham against Guy Justin Overbury from Derby. It was Thai-Boxing rules with the action of the first round getting underway.
Papplewick smash Farnsfield as Clifton splutter
In the Nottinghamshire Premier Cricket League, leaders Clifton Village were beaten away to Mansfield Hosiery Mills. Having won the toss they asked the home side to bat first and they made 222 before being bowled out in the 49th over, thanks in the main to a stand of 149 for the fourth wicket between Sudesh Fernando (84, five fours, five sixes) and Matt New (64, eight fours). Clifton’s captain Simon Roberts took 6-30 in 13 overs and Danny Footitt 3-44 in 9 overs.
Hot at the top as Big Three Win
ALL the top three teams in The Bassetlaw Championship managed maximum points on a day where shocks were virtually non existent and nothing much was gleaned from proceedings. Indeed their was only one fixture in the top division where both sides scored in excess of 200 as the bowlers had a day to remember for a change.
