Attenborough no match for Clifton attack
Clifton retained top spot in the Nottinghamshire Premier Cricket League with a win at home to Attenborough. Clifton won the toss and elected to bat, posting a score of 235-7 off their 50 overs, Liam Andrews scoring 72 (2 fours, 3 sixes), James Hollingsworth 50 (5 fours) and Luke Fletcher 33 (2 fours, 1 six). Attenborough’s Andrew Carter took 3 for 71 from 15 overs. Although Attenborough made a good start they collapsed when the first wickets fell and were bowled for 129 in 41 overs.
Outlaws mauled by Featherstone Lions
Nottingham Outlaws failed to extend their winning run in the Rugby League Conference National to 9 matches when they were beaten 28-6 by a powerful Featherstone Lions on Saturday. It was a comprehensive defeat by a powerful yet highly mobile Featherstone outfit that have emerged in recent weeks as likely championship contenders. As a result of the defeat, the Outlaws drop down to fourth place in the division and now have some work to do to climb back up the table.
Aziz fires Thorsby back up the league
After last weeks ignominy of dropping to the bottom rung of the ladder, Thoresby Colliery came back with a bang to completely outgun a battered Glapwell side by a massive eight wicket margin. Batting first on the usual shirt-front track, Glapwell lost two early wickets when Dan Bircumshaw and skipper Matt Hall fell victims to two awful shots and were both back inside with less than twenty runs on the board.
