Radcliffe victorious thanks to deadly Torr
Radcliffe on Trent and Long Eaton in Division A lived up to its billing with Radcliffe victorious on the final delivery of a thrilling match. Radcliffe’s Eddie Torr struck the first blows of the game with two quick wickets, including that of Brett Scothern who was looking for a third successive century. South African Leon Botha (53) and Andy Edge (31) batted well to repair the damage. Read our report inside.
Calland goes on the rampage as the outlaws crush storm
Nottingham Outlaws Rugby League club registered their 7th consecutive win in the the Co-operative Rugby League Conference National division with a crushing 66-22 victory over Gateshead Storm at Highfields on Saturday. It was a superb display of speed and power by all of the Outlaws players but centre stage went to captain Paul Calland who equalled the club record for tries in a match with a stunning 5-try haul. Top two draw again in the Notts Premier
All the Nottinghamshire Premier Cricket League teams held a minutes silence before the start of their games as a mark of respect for Trevor Wilson, founder member and serving President of the League, who passed away on Thursday at the age of 76. Trevor has been fighting a long term illness but still remained in his post and has carried out a tremendous amount of work since the formation of the league. He will be sadly missed.
