The Cobra stages late comeback to destroy Taylor
Nottingham’s Carl ‘The Cobra’ Froch defeated Jermaine Taylor to retain the WBC Super Middle Weight Belt. In an amazingly fight that saw ‘The Crobra’ down in the 3rd round, but rallying to stop Taylor with just 14 seconds on the clock.
Greys’ got more bottle than Rooney’s
Nottingham’s no. 1 Sunday side produced more heroics in the final of the Carlsberg All England Cup at Anfield. The Buwell side were trailing 2-1 after initially leading the Oyster Martyrs from Liverpool, and then up popped Juree Staples with a header he’ll remember for while. Oysters hearts sank as did their hopes of lifting the title, as Greys ran a mock in extra-time, eventually finishing 4-3.
Clifton kick-off with respectable draw against Papplewick
Nottinghamshire cricket clubs couldn’t have prayed for a better weekend for the start of the season.
